Okaya Electric Vehicle Launches e-Scooter ‘Faast’

Okaya Electric has launched its new high-speed e-scooter in India, Okaya Faast, at the recently held EV Expo 2021 in Greater Noida.

The company also announced the opening of bookings with an initial payment of Rs 1,999 through the Okaya EV website or at dealerships.

Besides, Okaya also showcased its upcoming e-motorcycle Ferrato, which is expected to be launched in the second quarter of FY22.

The varied product range of batteries is suitable for all kinds of applications, like Tubular Battery- Inverter Battery and Solar Battery, SMF Battery, E-Rickshaw Battery, Lithium and EV charging solutions.

Okaya is the sole manufacturer of 100% Tubular Batteries, which are considered as best for power backup needs, used both in Inverter and Solar Batteries.

The new Okaya Faast electric scooter has been launched at Rs 89,999, ex-showroom (excluding state subsidies) and it claims to offer a range of 150-200 km per charge.

Bookings for the same are now open. One can book this electric scooter by paying a token amount of Rs 2,000 on the company’s official website or by visiting their nearest Okaya EV dealership. 

Talking about the specs of this electric scooter, the new Okaya Faast has a top speed of 60-70 kmph and it gets a 4.4 kW lithium phosphate battery.

The company claims that it will deliver a range of 150 km on a single charge. Moreover, the range can go as high as 200 km per charge, depending on the usage.

In terms of features, the Okaya Faast gets an LED headlamp with LED DRLs, a digital instrument cluster, a combined braking system for added safety, etc.

Moreover, according to the company, Okaya has set up over 225 dealerships across the country in the first six months of its inception. Also, Okaya showcased its upcoming electric bike, Ferrato, at the EV Expo which is expected to be launched in the second quarter of FY22.

Leading by example with fully made in India products instead of just assembled in India products, Okaya has emerged as a frontrunner in the e-scooter segment across the length and breadth of the country.

The company also said that along with working on introducing high-spec e-two wheelers, it is also on track to becoming the fastest-growing domestic EV brand, having developed over 225 dealers across India in about six months of its inception.

As the country’s energy fleet is fast changing to electric mode, there is high demand for EVs, and subsequently the demand for fast charging and affordable e-scooters is also growing.
